Extras sought for Dublin football film

The cult football TV series Fran is being turned into a feature film, and is seeking extras for production.

Fran, which ran on Setanta Sports and TV3 between 2009 and 2011, is making the leap from the small screen to the big screen.

The logline for the film reads “when non-league St Peter’s Celtic are drawn to play titans Shamrock Rovers in the first round of the FAI Cup, assistant manager Fran Costello hopes his team will pull off one of the greatest shocks in football history. But it isn’t long before the sh*t really hits the Fran…”

The production company said “we will be looking for people from all ages, looks, shapes, sizes and backgrounds with no previous experience needed; this will be paid work and filming will take place in the Dublin area in March.”
“As the film is football based we will be searching to cast some young athletic men between the ages of 18-35 with good football, soccer or GAA experience for featured roles.”
