If you are looking for the widest range of exciting and innovative designers, then Gifted at the RDS from December 4-8 is the fair for you. Billed as the ultimate destination for anyone interested in craft, design, unique independent brands and artisan food producers the fair has been running for four decades now. Measure for Measure

Set in Vienna, this is a dark comedy in five acts that was written in the early 1600s. Vienna is overrun with brothels and loose morality and when a young novice nun is compromised by a corrupt official, who offers to save her brother from execution in return for sex, she has no idea where to turn for help. When she threatens to expose him, he tells her that no one would believe her. Presented by Liberties College, Bull Alley, it plays in Civic Theatre, Tallaght, on Saturday December 7 at 7.30pm. Young Chef 

Is your child a budding chef or do they love to help you out in the kitchen?

Young Chef  cookery classes at Airfield Estate, Dundrum, on Sunday, December 8 might be right up their street! All classes are suitable for 8-12 year olds who love all things food! Each class is based on a seasonal theme and will begin by exploring what’s available in the garden and will then move on to prepare and cook a selection of themed recipes. Messiah

Irish Baroque Orchestra’s annual production of Handel’s masterpiece is a memorable and glorious affair. This year it’s happening on Friday, December 6 at 7.30pm in St Patrick’s Cathedral.

Sustainable Christmas Fair

The Rediscovery Centre is hosting its first Sustainable Christmas Fair this weekend on December 6, 7 and 8. There will be a large selection of stalls with independent suppliers who sell sustainably made products. There will also be plenty of activities for all the family with Christmas movies, demonstrations and festive food.

The fun kicks off from 5pm on Friday and from 9am on Saturday and Sunday.

Once Upon a Time at Bingo Loco

Polish your glass slippers, dust off your magic lamp and join in the fun as the clock strikes rave round for Bingo Loco’s special festive edition.

Once Upon a Time at Bingo Loco will be lavishly brought to life in a production packed full of hilarious comedy, extraordinary special effects, sing-along routines and everything you would expect from Bingo Loco – rave rounds, insane prizes and a dance off or two. Christmas Craft & Food Fair

Enjoy the festive atmosphere with a glass of mulled wine while browsing a large selection
of high quality crafts and artisan foods at this fair in Seamus Ennis Arts Centre, Naul, Co Dublin, on Sunday, December 8 from 10.30am-4.30pm.

There will be pottery, stained glass, handmade soaps and creams, knitted products, fabric toys, prints, felted products, candles, farmhouse cheeses, jams & chutneys, chocolates and more.

On the day visitors will be entertained by Naul Choir, Blanchardstown Brass Band and others.

The World’s Big Sleep Out

Trinity College will host Depaul’s Sleep Out event on Saturday, December 7. It coincides with The World’s Big Sleep Out which will take place in over 50 cities on the same night around the world.
