Dublin Theatre Festival 2019

Hardy Annuals Charity Walk

The Hardy Annuals Charity Challenge Walk takes place in Glendalough on Thursday, September 26. The walk is being held to raise money for a fantastic charity, Partnership America Latina, (PAL) and at the same time to provide a challenge for those who have reached retirement age or thereabouts! There are four great hikes to choose from ranging in length from 10km to 22km. Registration for the hikes starts in the Brocagh Centre in Laragh at 9.30am with the actual walks starting at 10am. IFI Documentary Festival

The Irish Film Institute (IFI) is hosting the 17th IFI Documentary Festival from September 25-29.

With fifteen features and its perennially popular shorts programme, the festival will showcase the best of Irish and international documentary filmmaking. It opens with the Irish premiere of Benjamin Berman’s The Amazing Johnathan Documentary and this year’s line-up also includes the world premiere of Peter Kelly’s Journey to the Edge, Paul Duane’s Best Before Death featuring a live performance from Bill Drummond and Tam Dean Burn, plus a whole host of invited guests and panellists. The place to be for all things vegan and plant based lifestyle is Griffith College Campus this weekend (September 28-29). You don’t have to be a vegan to enjoy Dublin Vegfest; you can just hang out eating great food in the food village, try natural ethical products, learn about plant based health benefits or enjoy a talk, music or workshop among a super friendly gathering. Dubray StoryFest

Dubray StoryFest, a fun-filled, creative festival for children aged 0-12 and their families, takes place at Dublin’s Airfield Estate on Saturday, September 28.

There will be over 25 talented children’s authors and illustrators coming from all over Ireland and the UK attending.

StoryFest 2019 will be a day of interactive author shows, storytelling, an illustrator’s corner, art and craft activities, family music workshops, treasure trails and face-painting, along with a relaxed zone for children with special needs.

Remixed: An Exhibition of Sculpture

Sculptor Redmond Herrity embarks on his debut Dublin exhibition at The Ireland Institute, 27 Pearse Street, from Thursday, September 26, at 6pm.

Featuring work from his Recyclable Studies and his well-known Undercover collection, this exhibition brings together a mix of his collectible pieces.

Using ancient techniques along with a modern approach, Redmond's work spans centuries to bring together classical sculpture with every day discarded rubbish.
