MUSIC: Flash Harry celebrates Queen in Vicar Street
Dublin People 22 Mar 2019
AUDIENCES have been enthralled by Flash Harry's searing take on some of rocks greatest ever anthems.

From 'Radio Gaga' to 'We Are The Champions' and 'Bohemian Rhapsody' to 'We Will Rock You' and everything in between, this tribute act is quite simply, live music entertainment at its best.
With a huge resurgence in Queen's popularity following the release of the critically acclaimed movie ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’, the demand to see and hear their music live is as high as it has been since the heady days of post-Live Aid 1980s.
Celebrating the music of Queen for over 20 years, Flash Harry's faithful tribute to Queen has drawn fans of the band in over the years to enjoy the quality of the performances and the sheer entertainment value of their show.
Delivering a show that embraces live music in its purest essence, it oozes with talent, energy, enthusiasm, passion and of course the pure showmanship that we associate with one of the most exuberant frontmen of all time, Freddie Mercury.
Tickets from €26 are available from Ticketmaster.ie and venue box offices

1. Most memorable moment in Dublin?
August 1984. Queen played the RDS Simonscourt on the ‘Works Tour’. It was the first time seeing Queen and my first time in Dublin. I went with a group of about 15 friends and travelled down by bus; there was much singing, dancing, laughter and general jollyfication!
2. Favourite place to visit in Dublin?
Vicar Street or the Olympia Theatre. I enjoy going to shows. I love live entertainment. I enjoy the content and the delivery. You can always get a few pointers on things to do or not to do on stage.
3. When not performing, what else do you do?
I don’t do sport as a hobby. Music was and is my only interest. I also have three children which means I’m a trainee taxi driver. Also..keep this to yourself, I was briefly involved in politics but I put that down to a midlife crisis.
4. First album you bought and last album you bought?
Unsurprisingly my first Album was Queen ‘Sheer Heart Attack’ – I must have been about 11-years-old. My last album was the soundtrack to the movie ‘A star is Born’. I loved the movie and loved the sound track even more.
5. Who are your influences?
My musical influence would be very diverse, Queen, obviously, I would be a big fan of and Thin Lizzy of course. As vocalists, I love Ray Charles, Sam Cooke and the single biggest influence Elvis Presley.
6. Outside of your band, with you fronting, who would make up your ideal band (dead or alive)?
Ronnie Tutt on drums, Phil Lynott on bass, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Rory Gallagher on guitar, Billy Joel on piano and David Bowie on acoustic in full Ziggy Stardust mode!
7. Any tips on life?
If you want something go and get it. Don’t wait for it to happen. Also don’t take it too seriously, none of us really know what we are doing.
8. First person you'd invite to a dinner party and why?
Billy Connolly; he is witty, intelligent and he has a great handle on the absurdity of life. He would set the tone, stimulate conversation and maybe play a wee tune on the banjo!
9. Last person you'd invite and why?
Donald Trump. In my opinion, he is self-obsessed and completely lacking in empathy. He would dominate and take over the conversation and let’s not forget, it's my dinner party. If there is any monopolising to be done it will be by me! Anyway, who do you think is paying for all this stuff!
Flash Harry is a celebration of Queen LIVE and comes to Dublin’s Vicar Street on Saturday, April 13.
