MUSIC: A breath of fresh air at Pink Floyd Experience at the Academy

FOLLOWING a run of sold out tours Breathe – The Pink Floyd Experience return to the stage in 2019 with their acclaimed show ‘Dark Side of the Moon – Live’ and play The Academy on Saturday, March 16.

Breathe feature the cream of Ireland’s session musicians, its members having previously played with an array of Ireland’s top talent including; Sinead O’Connor, Clannad, Gavin Friday and Jack L amongst others.

Breathe came together in 2015 over a shared love of Pink Floyd and a desire to emulate and recreate the sound and soundscape of Pink Floyd's legendary live shows.

This show will feature a full live performance of Pink Floyd’s masterpiece ‘Dark Side of the Moon’ along with a selection of fan favourites from the band’s most popular and successful period; 1971’s ‘Meddle’ right up to and including 1983’s ‘The Final Cut’.

Accompanied by stunning live visuals, this is a real Pink Floyd Experience, a two-hour psychedelic rock trip, not to be missed.

Tickets from €28 from the venue box office and Ticketmaster.ie

Track Record with Graham Carey from Breathe

1. Most memorable moment in Dublin?

Sitting at home in Killiney on July 13 1985 watching Live Aid on the TV. I’ll never forget it as that was the day I decided to be a drummer and that’s all I’ve done ever since really!

2. Favourite place to visit in Dublin?

I love going to see live music, particularly in smaller, more intimate venues, like Whelan’s on Wexford Street or The Sugar Club, there’s nothing like experiencing live music up close.

3. When not performing, what else do you do?

I’m a father so that takes up a lot of my time, which I love, the rest of the time I’m either teaching or playing drums at home! Life is very good!

4. First album you bought and last album you bought?

First album I bought for myself was ‘Under a Blood Red Sky’ by U2. I went out and bought the album after seeing U2 at Live Aid. Last album was ‘Moon Shaped Pool’ by Radiohead, amazing record.

5. Who are your influences?

I’m very influenced by Pink Floyd (obviously!)
