MUSIC: Trad legends Kila to take the stage at Dublin Racing Festival

TRAD legends Kila will be bringing their infectious high energy live set to Leopardstown Racecourse when they headline day two at the Dublin Racing Festival.

Hugely successful internationally as well as here in their native Ireland, Kila have set the bar for electrical live performances and have brought Dublin’s traditional music firmly into the 21st century.

Also featuring on the music bill over the weekend of Saturday, February 2 and Sunday 3 will be a DJ set from RTE’s Doireann Garrihy on the Saturday, while street performance puppeteers The Chancy Brothers bring some classic Irish folk and trad to the audience as they rove throughout the racecourse over the weekend.

Chef Adrian Martin is returning to the festival and will showcase some signature Dublin dishes over the weekend. He will compliment a Dublin Street Food Court at the festival, inviting the public to sample some of the city’s culinary delights.

A ticket tout trying to sell me a ticket to our first Olympia show.

I'm an illustrator and cartoonist, and I also go to cinema with offspring 'Sophie'.

My dad 'Larry Hogan', ABBA, ACDC, Queen, Weather Report, 2 Tone, The Police, Egon Schele, Beck, Tom Waits, Moving Hearts, The Bothy Band, Leonard Cohen, Rodin, Degas, too many…

6. Outside of KILA, with you fronting, who would make up your ideal band (dead or alive)?

Brian May, Jim Morrison/ Iggy Pop, John Bonham and Sonny Rollins on sax).

7. Any tips on life? Learn the art of saying 'NO' and no one will ever be what you think they should be so don't expect them to be!

8. If you were to name a horse for a race, what would it be and why?

'Go for it' – It's what my dad always said to us, as in, if you want to try something , go for it!
