MUSIC: Flowers hot up for Leopardstown

Dublin People 01 Jun 2018
The Hothouse Flowers are first out of the traps at Leopardstown this summer.

A SERIES of great summer nights of live music and horse racing kick off at Leopardstown Racecourse on Thursday, June 7 when The Hothouse Flowers return to play the racecourse stage.

Hothouse Flowers have become a consistent live force on the music scene and remain huge fans' favourites to this day.

The band stormed the UK charts last year when a re-released 'Don't Go' reached Number 1 following the huge attention received from the launch of the TV motor show, The Grand Tour, on Amazon Prime.

1. Most memorable moment in Dublin?

Easter Monday 2016 was great. We all shared it and felt like we owned it. North, south east and west.

2. Name your favourite place to visit in Dublin and why.

I love Howth. The cliff walk is just a world unto itself.

3. When you're not playing music, what else do you do?

I like people. Talking to strangers. I also have always loved drawing and painting.

4. First album you bought and last album you bought.

The Ramones 'Road to Ruin'…. Paul Muldoon reading his own poems.

 5. Who are your influences?

Everything. Love. Loss. Colour. Seasons. The sea. Friends. Fear. Time. Drink. Night. Animals. Mornings.

6. Any tips on life?

Love it to death. Trust your deeper judgement. See the poetic nature of things and be mindful of signs.

7. If you were to name a horse for a race, what would it be and why?

I would call the horse ‘Norush’… because I would like to see him/her live a long life.

The career might not be that long though 🙂
