MUSIC: Aussie rockers Jet in for Dublin gig

Dublin People 07 May 2018
The lads of Jet have been playing all over the world since they reformed.

IN EARLY 2017, one of Australia’s most successful rock bands of all time, Jet, reformed to hit the road with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band.

They have since reissued their first two albums ‘Get Born’ and ‘Shine On’ on vinyl, CD and digitally. Following a hugely successful run with The Boss, Jet returned to Japan to play the prestigious Fuji Rock Festival where they brought the house down in front of 50,000 ecstatic fans.

Jet quickly conquered the world after forming in 2001, selling more than 6.5 million albums globally and securing Platinum certification in Australia, the USA and UK for their 2003 debut album Get Born.

The album produced a string of classic singles including ‘Are You Gonna Be My Girl’ and ‘Cold Hard Bitch’.

In 2006 Jet were named APRA’s Songwriters of The Year and for three years running Are You Gonna Be My Girl was the most performed Australian song overseas.

JET’s follow up album “Shine On” followed in 2006 and was rammed full of another collection melodic rock tunes.

Check out the reformed, the revamped Jet at the Academy on Thursday, July 19.

The back of stand-out headline shows around the world, and an unforgettable Big Day Out run in 2007.
