Rock ‘n’ Roll Years and Dance Hall Days

The ‘Rock’N’Roll Years and Dance Hall Days’ at The Pavilion Theatre is back with a brand-new show featuring George Jones, Clubsound and four wonderful singers.

The show will transport audiences back to the nostalgic days and incredible music and artistes of 50’s and 60’s. 

With over 40 classic songs this is a show not to be missed.  The Rock ‘n’ Roll Years will be rolling in on Saturday, February 24 at 8pm. Tickets from €25 are available from the box office on 01-231 2929 or online www.paviliontheatre.ie

EPIC Spring Festival Fair

EPIC and CHQ are celebrating the Dublin Chinese New Year Festival with a Spring Festival Fair on February 24-25.

There will be special arts and crafts workshops for children and families to make their own Chinese lantern available from 12pm – 4pm on each day, and they’re included with entry to EPIC.

EPIC will also be offering guided tours of its exhibition in Mandarin for the first time. Discover the influence the Irish have had on the world and explore our connections to communities both near and far at our award-winning digital museum. Tours will take place at 10am, 12pm, 2pm and 4pm each day.

Science is Fun

This free show lasts for 30 to 40 Minutes and while all ages will enjoy it, it is aimed mainly at the 4 to 10 age range (Junior, 1st, 2nd and 3rd classes or groups).

It’s a great way to show how fun science can be. During the event everyone can be and will be involved with games, competitions and there’s prizes for everyone. 

It’s happening on Saturday, February 24, from 12.30 to 1.15pm at Engineers Ireland, 22 Clyde Road, Ballsbridge, and you can register at eventbrite.ie.

Music table quiz

Portmarnock Musical and Dramatic Society is holding a music table quiz in the Portmarnock Sports and Leisure Club (PSLC) on Friday, February 23 at 8pm. A table of four will cost €40. The quiz will have music from the 70s, 80s and 90s, TV signature tunes, musicals etc. 

This is a joint fundraiser for Portmarnock MDS and the RNLI.

Emil Nolde exhibition

A major exhibition of work by pioneering German Expressionist painter Emil Nolde (1867-1956) is open at the National Gallery of Ireland, Dublin, from now until June 10. 

‘Emil Nolde: Colour is Life’ is a collaboration between the National Gallery of Ireland, the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art and the Emil Nolde Foundation in Seebüll.

The IMMA Collection: Freud Project 

In 2016 IMMA (Irish Museum of Modern Art) secured the loan of 50 works by one of the greatest realist painters of the 20th-century, Lucian Freud (1922-2011). In the first year the IMMA Collection: Freud Project 2016 – 2021 presented all 50 works, in a dedicated Freud Centre in IMMA’s Garden Galleries.

The exhibition now sees the addition of two major works by Freud, Two Brothers from Ulster, 2001, and Man in a Silver Suit, 1998. There is free access for audiences every Tuesday.

The Man In Black

Terry Lee Goffee and his band aree back at Draiocht in Dublin 15 for one of best Johnny Cash tribute shows around. He was a sensation and a complete sell out when he appeared in Draiocht in 2009 & 2017.

Featuring songs from all periods of Cash’s career, the performance includes 34 classic songs. The gig starts at 8pm on Thursday and Friday, February 22 and 23. Tickets from Draiocht cost around €20.

Red Stables Market

The St Anne’s Park Red Stables Market takes place every Saturday from 10am to 4pm in Raheny. 

Included are locally grown organic vegetables, organic meat direct from the farm, patisserie, fresh bread, raw milk, farmhouse butter, locally grown flowers, bulk organic wholefoods and eco products; and delicious hot food offering, covering vegan, vegetarian, as well as meat offerings.

Dublin International Film Festival

The Audi Dublin International Film Festival is taking place at various venues around the city from Thursday, February 22 to Sunday, March 4. As well as a jam packed program of film, the festival presents a wide array of movie events ranging from the glitz and glamour of the red carpet to outdoor cinema installations that take place right across the city to industry masterclasses.
