FESTIVAL: Vogue and Danny are added to Dublin Racing Festival bill
Dublin People 13 Jan 2018
VOGUE Williams and comedian Danny O’Brien have joined Damien Dempsey and Stockton’s Wing in a growing bill for the first Dublin Racing Festival, taking place at Leopardstown Racecourse on February 3&4.
Howth resident, Vogue Williams, needs little introduction to Irish audiences since launching her career on reality TV show Fade Street in 2010.
She has since gone on to enjoy a hugely successful career in media, whether it is presenting her own TV shows or working as a DJ on radio, festivals and clubs.
Vogue will be on decks for two sets on the first day of the weekend, on Saturday, February 3.
Meanwhile, Dublin comedian Danny O’Brien will be Dublin Racing Festival’s MC for a great weekend that will combine Grade 1 horse racing with an entertaining bill set to celebrate Dublin’s famous wit, comedy, cuisine and culture in a two-day festival programme.
Following in the footsteps of Simon Pegg, Dylan Moran and Dara Ó Briain, Danny was handpicked this year to perform as part of the iconic ‘Best of The Edinburgh Fest’ Show.
During a busy year he also toured Australia, playing the Perth World Fringe, Adelaide Fringe Festival and The Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
Danny recently finished a full run with his fourth solo show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Danny will compere a great comedy line-up for Dublin Racing Festival that includes Fred Cooke, Eric Lalor, Joanne McNally and Gearoid Farrelly.
They join Dublin folk troubadour Damien Dempsey who headlines on the Saturday night and trad legends Stockton’s Wing, who are topping the bill on Sunday.
The Dublin Racing Festival promises two exhilarating days of the finest jumps racing, with the best equine talent from Ireland and the UK competing for two premium titles – the Unibet Irish Gold Cup and the BHP Insurance Irish Champion Hurdle.
In total there will be seven mouth-watering Grade 1 races totaling €1.5 million in prize money.
The 6 Nations France Vs Ireland rugby clash will also be shown live on the big screen on the Saturday evening, while further details of performers and highlights at Dublin Racing Festival will be revealed later this month.
Tickets for the festival are now on sale now from www.leopardstown.com along with information on various packages.
