DUBLIN band Kodaline (pictured right) who headline the 3Countdown Concert, have officially launched the programme of events for New Year’s Festival Dublin at the Custom House.

Dublin’s iconic landmark will be at the centre of the action as Dublin counts down to the New Year.

There will be several days of spectacular events to mark the occasion.

For the first time ever, two spectacular Midnight Moment events will countdown to 2018 in style with breath-taking aerial and aquatic displays.

As well as the Liffey Lights Midnight Moment  there will also be the family-friendly Liffey Lights Midnight Moment Matinee starting at the earlier time of 6.30pm.

New Year's Festival Dublin participants can also celebrate the New Year with Kodaline at the 3Countdown Concert and kick-start 2018 at the free, family-friendly 3New Year’s Day Celebration and concert.

New Year’s Festival Dublin also revealed details of their free, family–friendly 3New Year’s Day Celebrations at Custom House Quay on January 1.

Running from 12 noon until 4pm, you can enjoy award-winning performers and the hugely popular New Year’s Day concert featuring the brilliant Garda Band, The Line Up Choir and the Hit Machine Drummers and more.

The 3New Year’s Day Celebrations promise to be a fun filled day of entertainment with pop up performances from jugglers, mime artists, stilt walkers and face painting.

This year’s participants in New Year’s Festival Dublin can also ring in 2018 at Liffey Lights Midnight Moment – a dazzling light, aerial and aquatic display.

Keelin Fagan, Head of Dublin for Fáilte Ireland, said: “This year’s festival has an action-packed programme with spectacular, welcoming and fun events planned over the two days with something for everyone”.

She added: “For the first time ever, visitors will be treated to the unique visual spectacle of the Liffey Lights Midnight Moment.”

This new exciting event will be like no other staged in the city before with dazzling aerial, aquatic, acrobatic and light display performances over the River Liffey. It will promote the very best of what Dublin has to offer and will undoubtedly prove a magnet for people from home and abroad. This free show, open to all, is also being performed at a matinee performance so that family and friends can come along earlier in the day to celebrate and enjoy the countdown moment.”
