This exclusive performance focuses on Ledwidge’s two beautiful texts
‘May’ and
‘August’, and also his harrowing description of the death of a soldier immortalised in
‘A Soldier’s Grave.  Ledwidge’s short life ended abruptly and tragically in 1917, but the resonance of his unique voice lingers on. Supporting Anúna will be award winning composer and sean nós singer Lorcán Mac Mathúna whose work has been inspired by the words of the 1916 Rising leaders and Ledwidge’s iconic poem
‘Lament for Thomas Mac Donagh’.
