SUMMER nights of live music and horse racing continue at Leopardstown Racecourse this Thursday, July 13 when Hothouse Flowers return to play the racecourse stage. We put band member Fiachna o Braonain on the Track Record…

1. Best gig you’ve been to in Dublin: The Rolling Stones – The Point 2003.
2. Most Memorable moment in Dublin:
Busking during the summer of 1985.. it was the summer of a lifetime!
3. Most ‘Want to forget’ moment in Dublin:
I’ve already forgotten!
4. First album you bought and last album you bought:
First album I bought was the soundtrack to Saturday Night Fever.. and the last album I bought was Ron Sexsmith – Evergreen
5. When you’re not playing music, what else do you do?
I present music programmes on RTÉ Radio 1, write music for TV and look after my lively children! I am also taster-in-chief for JeSweets Chocolates!
6. Who are your influences?
Musically… Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, The Bothy Band, Planxty. Also Julia Cameron (writer of the ‘Artist’s Way’) and Eckhart Tolle who urges living in the now!
7. If you weren’t in Hothouse Flowers, who would make up your ideal band with you as frontman? (Musicians past and present)
My other band Prenup was myself on vocals and guitar, Cait O Riordan on bass and vocals and Dave Clarke on drums… couldn’t do better than that!
