MUSIC: Hear the ballad of Dan Owen in the Grand Social
Dublin People 02 Mar 2017
A YOUNG man who has been turning heads with his extraordinary vocals and charismatic stage presence is bringing his live show to Dublin.

The Shrewsbury vocal powerhouse that is Dan Owen was first noticed when he started playing live 10 years ago, at the tender age of 13.
He rose to wider prominence after a video of him playing a stunning live cover of Bob Dylan’s ‘The Ballad of Hollis Brown’ was uploaded by a random audience member to Reddit and became an overnight viral internet sensation.
Since then Dan’s own talents as a songwriter have blossomed and the result is a stunning selection of songs. His debut EP was released to high praise in 2015 and now the single ‘Made to Love You’ is the first taste of his upcoming record.
His captivating songwriting and relentless touring has seen Dan already develop a fervent fan base, which resulted in him selling out his headline show at London’s St Pancras Old Church recently.
Dan also embarked a 30-date European tour in support of Birdy that saw him take to the stage at the Olympia Theatre over two nights last October.
The singer was such a huge fan of Dan that she finished every night of her tour inviting him onstage to duet on her 2015 hit ‘Let It All Go’.
He’s also been invited back to head out on the road with her again for more shows later this year.
In the meantime, though, you can catch him live at The Grand Social on Wednesday, May 10. Tickets (€13) including booking fee are on sale now through Ticketmaster.
