Warpaint to play special Dublin show in Vicar Street

Warpaint are on their way to Dublin.

POD announced recently that Warpaint will play a special Dublin show at Vicar Street on Sunday, March 26.

Those of you who caught their incredible sell out show in August at the National Concert Hall will know what truly amazing live performances Warpaint (Emily Kokal, guitar and vocals, Jenny Lee Lindberg, bass, vocals, Stella Mozgawa, drums and vocals, and Theresa Wayman, guitar and vocals), put on for their audiences.

This announcement follows the recent release of their third studio album ‘Heads Up’, via Rough Trade Records in September.

‘Heads Up’ was recorded after the band spent 2015 apart working on solo projects.

Reuniting in January this year, the band started out with producer Jacob Bercovici, who they had worked on their debut EP ‘Exquisite Corpse’.

The album was recorded in House on The Hill Studio in downtown LA, their home studios and Papap’s Palace and for the first time ever, recorded in pairs and alone rather than as a full band.

“The doors were a little more open in terms of what was accepted and what wasn’t, because we were sharing ideas so rapidly between us,” said the band’s drummer Stella Mozgawa of the recording process.

“Everybody was allowed to have their space, time and creative freedom with songs and figure out, ‘I wonder what the best notes would be? I wonder what the best would be to play?” added bassist Jenny Lee Lindberg.

“Everybody got to sit and go, “What do I want to do to this? What’s my part? What’s my role? How can I make it the best?”

“I feel really proud of what we made, almost surprised,” Linberg reflected.

“When we were making it, I was like ‘I wonder what this is going to sound like? How’s this going to come together so nicely?

“I feel so proud of it as it’s like an evolution of our band. It sounds like a mature version of Warpaint.”
