THERE’S plenty to take minds off the chilly winter at this year’s Holiday World Show taking place at RDS Simmonscourt this weekend.

One of the highlights will be Olympians Paul and Gary O’Donovan and Kathryn Thomas headlining the always-popular Eoghan Corry Travel Summit during which Ireland’s leading travel journalist will take centre stage.

The Travel Summit, held in association with Dublin Airport, gives visitors a ‘behind the curtain’ understanding of all aspects of travel and tourism at home and abroad with insights from a panel of industry experts.

Kathryn Thomas, TV presenter and former Irish Travel Journalist of the Year, will swap travel stories with Eoghan at 3pm today (Friday, January 27).

Busy with the current RTE 1 TV season of Operation Transformation, Kathryn will be present at the Holiday World Show promoting Pure Results Bootcamp, her weight-loss and fitness retreat.

Dublin Airport will welcome the Olympic silver medallists Paul and Gary O’Donovan to the Eoghan Corry Travel Summit at 3pm on Saturday, January 28.

Eoghan will chat to the duo about their recent silver medal winning Olympic campaign and hear about their top travel tips for 2017.

Although rowing may be their preferred method of travel, the O’Donovan brothers are no strangers to Dublin Airport.

Having travelled to Rio for the Olympics to win silver, and to Germany for the 2016 European Rowing Championships to win gold, these brothers are seasoned travellers.

Other topics covered at the summit will be Activity Holidays including Ski and Snow, What’s new in the USA, How To Get The Best Cruise Deals, Platinum Services and other VIP facilities in Dublin Airport, Flying East, Europe Calling, Visas and Passports – What You Need To Know, Africa, Flying West in 2017, Irish Attractions and Regions, and Solo Travelling.

Vincent Harrison, Managing Director of Dublin Airport will join Eoghan for a Q&A session on the Number 1 European Airport for passenger service in 2015.

Dublin Airport is the place where many holidays begin, with over 180 destinations in 40 countries on four continents. Ireland’s gateway to hundreds of worldwide destinations including the US, Dublin Airport facilitates 162 direct US flights per week, flying to 12 destinations, including a new direct service to Miami from September 2017.

With US Preclearance at Dublin Airport, holidaymakers can clear immigration in Dublin saving up to two hours on landing in the US. Once through US Preclearance, visitors can book into the 51st&Green Preclearance lounge, located beside the departure gates.

Eoghan Corry says visitors to his summit at Holiday World Show will get plenty of expert holiday advice.

“The ‘meet the expert’ sessions have grown steadily over the years and Dublin Airport’s support will see even more topics being covered across the three days of the show with contributions from an even bigger spread of industry gurus,” he added.

Louise Bannon, Head of Marketing at Dublin Airport said the airport was delighted to be partnering again with Eoghan Corry.

“We are looking forward to giving visitors to the show a wealth of expert information to help with truly rewarding holiday and travel experiences,” she continued.

“The Eoghan Corry Travel Summit in association with Dublin Airport is the place Irish holidaymakers should head to for the best tips and insider information on where to go in 2017 and more importantly, to find the best travel specials and deals.”

The Eoghan Corry Travel Summit in association with Dublin Airport is free to attend for visitors to Holiday World Show.
