Strypes to rock Leopardstown
Dublin People 29 Jul 2016
Cavan rockers, The Strypes play Bulmers Live At Leopardstown this Thursday, August 4.
The Strypes have been an extraordinary Irish success story since they burst onto the airwaves in 2013. Telling the world that their record is the best he’s heard all year at the Grammys last week, Alice Cooper’s endorsement is a strong indicator that this is a gig not to be missed!
As always, the performances will be preceded by a top class card of horse racing and a wide selection of hospitality options available for everyone from the great value ‘Summer Bundle’ to the premium ‘Summer Party’.
For tickets and hospitality options – go to www.leopardstown.com or call the Leopardstown ticket line on 01-2890500. There are also discounts for advance group bookings available online.

TRACK RECORD WITH THE STRYPES
1. Best gig you’ve been to in Dublin?
Best gig has to be The Might Stef in the Button Factory a few months ago. It was their last ever show and we’d done a lot of touring with them over the past year and a half. They’re great lads and easily the best band in Ireland when they were going!
2. Most memorable moment in Dublin?
Back in 2014 we played the fifth birthday party of Sweeney’s, the club on Dame Street. It was our first Dublin gig and a place we hold a lot of affection for. BP Fallon turned up with Bob Geldof in tow. We’re massive Boomtown Rats fans and couldn’t believe it when they got up with us and did ‘Riot In Cell Block No 9’ by Dr Feelgood!
3. Most ‘want to forget’ moment in Dublin?
I can’t remember!
4. First album you bought and last album you bought?
Probably a Stones album or something in that area. Most recent purchase was ‘Squeezing Out Sparks’ by Graham Parker & The Rumour.
5. When you’re not playing music, what else do you do?
As little as possible.
6. Who are your influences?
6. Dr Feelgood, The Clash, Johnny Thunders, The Boomtown Rats, The Undertones, Ian Drury, Chuck Berry, Nick Lowe, Bo Diddley, Graham Coxon and many more!
7. If you weren’t playing with your fellow band mates, who would make up your ideal band?
Pete Thomas on drums, Jools Holland on keys, Nick Lowe on bass, Steve Jones on guitar and Lee Brilleaux on vocals/harmonica.
8. Any tips on life?
Don’t take any advice from people in bands!
9. First person you’d invite to your party?
Groucho Marx
10. Last person you’d invite to your party?
Nigel Farage
