AN EXCITING array of after-parties have been laid on for revellers to enjoy after attending this summer’s Forbidden Fruit Festival.

The fun doesn’t end once the lights go down in Kilmainham as a whole host of Forbidden Fruit artists will be taking the party to some new and unique venues around the city centre for what have become the legendary Forbidden Fruit by Night sessions.

A series of festival after-parties will be staged in official locations around the city, running until 3am over the June Bank Holiday and featuring some of Dublin’s best collectives who will be joined by international guests from the festival line-up.

Last year there were no fewer than 12 sold out parties across the weekend and this year is expected to be bigger and better.

The increasingly popular multi-stage music arts festival takes place over the June Bank Holiday Weekend, from Friday, June 3 to 5 in the grounds of the Royal Hospital, Kilmainham.

Friday’s line-up includes Dizzee Rascal, Katy B, Young Fathers and Bodhi.

Thirteen years on from his debut album ‘Boy In Da Corner’, MC Dizzee Rascal will be making his Forbidden Fruit debut. Since he burst onto the scene, he has five studio albums under his belt and is famed for numerous chart topping singles including ‘Bonkers’, ‘Dance Wiv Me’, ‘Fix Up, Look Sharp’, and his recent collaboration with DJ Fresh & High Contrast on the old school track ‘How Love Begins’.

Saturday sees Tame Impala, Jungle, Skepta, Tale of Ss and Kiasmos take to the stage. One of the hottest rising stars of the grime world, the hugely talented Skepta has seen his track ‘Shut Down’ voted Track of the Year in 2015.

Emerging into the public consciousness around 2009, Freddie Gibbs gained a reputation for his gritty tales of life on the streets in the Midwest USA. He has worked with a host of impressive artists, including Pharrell Williams, Young Jeezy, Curren$y, Jadakiss and Dom Kennedy. Freddie’s studio album ‘ESGN’ was released in 2013 to positive reaction and featured production by SAP and Tone Mason among others. His ‘Shadow of a Doubt’ album last year saw him soar to new heights.

Headlining Sunday’s stage are dance heavyweights Underworld. With their first new studio album released in six years this promises to be a spectacular visual and dynamic show.

Tickets for Forbidden Fruit are on sale priced €59.50 including booking fee through Ticketmaster.ie and outlets nationwide.
