DRUIDS Glen Hotel & Golf Resort has announced it will host the 19th Jack & Jill Annual Golf Classic on Friday, May 13.
Druids Glen ambassadors Rob Kearney, his brother Dave, and Fergus McFadden lined out to make the announcement and it’s hoped the classic will raise over €30,000 for the children’s charity.
The classic is open to teams of four and the donation per team is €1,024, the equivalent of one month’s nursing care for one Jack & Jill baby.
The donation covers golf, a light lunch on arrival and tickets to dinner for eight including wine.
The day will start with a light lunch at 12noon and a shotgun start at 2pm followed by dinner, prize giving and entertainment.
“We are absolutely delighted to be hosting the Jack & Jill Annual Golf Classic this year,” said Edward Stephenson, CEO, Druids Glen Hotel & Golf Resort.
“The Foundation does incredible work for children all over the country and this event will play a key role in raising funds to ensure this can continue.
“I’m confident our championship course and the Resort at Druids Glen is the perfect setting for a great event in May.”
The Jack & Jill Children’s Foundation provides direct funding to families of children with brain damage up to the age of four who suffer severe intellectual and physical developmental delay, enabling them to purchase home nursing care. Jack & Jill also provide end of life care to all children up to the age of four.
Speaking at the launch event Jonathan Irwin, CEO of the Jack & Jill Children’s Foundation, said: “On behalf of the 300 sick babies and their families up and down the country under our wing I want to thank Edward Stephenson and the team at Druids Glen for really getting behind Jack & Jill, and on their behalf sincere thanks so much for choosing Jack & Jill as your charity partner.
“Life caring for a child with severe disabilities can be a lonely pathway, I should know. But knowing that classic events like this, supported by generous, energetic and thoughtful people are behind the Jack & Jill home nursing care model, and helping us to fund it, and promote it, makes all the difference and it’s about one neighbour helping another. Thank you.”
Team slots for the classic are filling up fast and those wishing to book a team are advised to contact Deirdre or Edelle at the Jack & Jill office on 045-894538 as soon as possible.
