Come and join the best party in town!

The Lord Mayor of Dublin has invited Dubliners and visitors to come in to Dublin city to celebrate the New Year’s festival.

Cllr Críona Ní Dhálaigh extended the open invite as the city prepares to come alive for the NYF Dublin Festival, from December 30 to January 1.

The Lord Mayor is encouraging everyone, especially families, to participate in a number of the free events, including the magical Procession of Light, Luminosity and a unique performance of ‘Handel’s Messiah’ in front of Dublin City Gallery, The Hugh Lane, on New Year’s Day.

“The Procession of Light is a highlight of the New Year festival and is a lovely way for the whole family to say goodbye to 2015,” the Lord Mayor said.

“We want families to come into town and walk through Dublin’s historic streets. Lanterns will be available to light up the route and donations for the lanterns will go to Focus Ireland.”

This year, Dubliners and visitors can ring in the New Year in Stephen’s Green South at Dublin’s First Street Fest and enjoy some of the best new Irish musical talent. Proceeds from Street Fest ticket sales will go to the National Council for the Blind of Ireland (NCBI).
