IF EVER there was an example of Oirishness gone mad, it happened back in the ’50s. Walt Disney was researching for his movie, Darby O’Gill and the Little People and he paid a visit to the Emerald Isle to check us out.
Not only did we humour him, we embraced him with open arms with both the President and An Taoiseach scurrying around after the king of animated movies. British Movietone captured the moment and earlier this week released this classic footage.
