Bogus charity collection warning

HEARTLESS con artists are calling
door-to-door pretending to be collecting money on behalf of a national charity
in several areas across the city.

Pieta House says fraudsters and criminals
have been calling suggesting they are acting on behalf of the suicide prevention
charity.

Pieta House is advising its supporters not
to donate to collectors if they approach their home.

“If people wish to fundraise for Pieta
House through on-street bucket collections they must get written permission
from us,

? a spokesperson for the charity said.

“They must also get a Garda permit and a
copy of both must be carried at all times by the collector.
