Boost as airport passenger numbers continue to rise

PASSENGER numbers at Dublin Airport increased by 15 per cent to 11.5 million during the first six months of the year, according to the Dublin Airport Authority (daa).

The airport has welcomed over 1.5 million extra passengers so far in the first half of 2015.
Dublin Airport managing director Vincent Harrison said:
“Dublin Airport had very strong passenger growth in the first six months of 2015 increasing by over three times the European average.
“The outlook for the rest of the year remains positive with 2015 on course to be the busiest in the airport’s history.

Mr Harrison added:
“The growth is due to 22 new routes/services starting in the first half of the year as well as additional capacity on a number on existing services.
?
Dublin Airport, which is celebrating its 75th birthday this year, has flights to 167 destinations.
