Speaking at the launch of the partnership Race Director, Rob Griffiths, said:
“We are delighted to be partnering with Barnardos on the Rock
‘n’ Roll Dublin Half Marathon.
“This event is truly a family-friendly festival weekend with a distance for everyone, whether you take on the half marathon or the shorter 3k Family Fun Run.
“Taking part is also a great way to raise funds and awareness for Barnardos – we will donate on behalf of every person who signs up between now and the race on August 2 and uses the special Barnardos code.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming people from across Ireland and abroad over the August Bank Holiday weekend.

Mary Gamble, Barnardos Fundraising Manager, said they were thrilled to be chosen as the charity partner for the Rock
‘n’ Roll Dublin Half Marathon.
“It’s a fantastic day of music, entertainment and fun for all the family and a hugely important source of support for our work with vulnerable children and families around the country,
? she said.
“The most recent CSO figures show that almost one in eight children in Ireland are now living in consistent poverty.
“Barnardos is here for these children and families, but we need your help to ensure this work can continue. Help change children’s lives today by taking part in the Rock
‘n’ Roll Dublin Half Marathon.

Participants who run both the half marathon and the 3k fun run will receive double the
“bling
? – a finisher medal for each race and a special medal for completing both races. The shorter 3k distance is also a great way to get the whole family running.
Starting in Dublin’s Docklands, the half marathon course runs along the north side of the Liffey (passing some of Dublin’s top landmarks along the way) and concludes in the Phoenix Park with a finish line festival and headline concert.
