RIALTO local Patricia McCann has been crowned Dublin Woman’s Way & Lidl Mum of the Year 2015.

Patricia McCann was nominated by her daughter, Dawn.

The 56-year-old’s humble reaction to her nomination proves why she stood out:

“I couldn’t believe it. Sure all mums are great, aren’t they?

Dawn nominated her single mum of four for always putting their family first. For instance, she returned to work in St James’s Hospital just six months after having a triple bypass. This was mainly due to the fact that she was determined to fund her daughter’s scholarship to the States, endlessly inspiring her children that they are to follow their dreams no matter what happens in life.

Despite leaving school at 12, self-taught Patricia now writes plays specifically on issues that affect people. They have been performed in community groups across Dublin and have led to her achieving recognition from Ringsend Community Forum and the South West inner City Network.

As well as the coveted Dublin Woman’s Way and Lidl Mum of the Year crown, Patricia walked away with a

?¬100 Lidl voucher, Bord Gáis Energy Theatre tickets and a hamper full of goodies and discounts from top brands such as Nivea, Stella & Dot, Fuschia, Max Benjamin, Argos, Penneys, Farmbake and more.
