Local biz-whizz is in driving seat to become ambassador
Dublin People 12 Jun 2015
A CASTLEKNOCK entrepreneur who is well on his way to creating a leading brand of gourmet granola is now also in the driving seat to become a Nissan Generation Next ambassador.

Seamus Tighe (27), who founded Everest Granola Cups last July, is now just one step away from getting his hands on the keys to a brand new, taxed and insured Nissan to drive for a year.
Seamus’s success in creating a healthy, new
‘on the go’ granola product from natural ingredients in Ireland greatly impressed Nissan who developed the Nissan Generation Next programme to support ambitious people who have what it takes to become tomorrow’s leaders.
Seamus was among hundreds of applicants who applied for this year’s programme and he is now one of just 20 people who have been put through to the public voting phase to select ten Nissan Generation Next ambassadors for 2015.
“Seamus exemplifies what Nissan Generation Next is all about,
? said James McCarthy, CEO of Nissan Ireland.
“He is passionate about making a healthy and tasty product in Ireland. Less than a year after setting up he has succeeded in selling thousands of units and securing an agreement to supply 225 Supervalu stores by the end of 2015.
“Seamus’s vision is to revolutionise the
‘on the go’ market and to establish Everest as a recognised brand across Ireland. His goal is to also supply Centra stores and to enter the UK market next year and to create 20 fulltime positions in Ireland by the end of 2017.
?
Seamus is calling on everyone in Castleknock and Dublin 15 to get behind him by voting online so he can be an ambassador.
The seven individuals with the largest number of votes will win a place on the Nissan Generation Next programme. The judges at Nissan will also select a further three applicants who have impressed them most.
“Everest Granola Cups has grown considerably through a lot of hard work, passion and miles covered,
? said Seamus.
“One cost that has taken its toll is that of renting vans and jeeps to courier product, to drop tasting stands around the country and to ensure staff can reach stores when needed.
“The nature of retail is that every store is a client, so it is important that we build and maintain strong relationships with owners, managers, staff and the customers of each store.
“The cost of renting vehicles is holding our business back and a Nissan would be a huge boost and would help launch Everest to the top of the mountain.
