THIS year’s Dublin Kite Festival will attract attendees from around the country, brandishing an array of kites ready to take to the skies and beautify the Dublin skyline with a jumble of colour on Sunday, June 14. The Dublin City Council organised event promises a jam-packed day of exhilarating fun for all the family.

The festival promises to be an unmissable day out with free entertainment all day long including lively music, exciting games, kite making workshops, a kite flying competition and lots more.

Lord Mayor of Dublin, Christy Burke, said the Dublin Kite Festival was a wonderful event.

“I’m delighted it’s returning to one of my favourite spots in Dublin, Dollymount Strand, this year,

? he declared.

“Kite flying is one of those great family activities that is suitable for all ages. You don’t have to be a child or even a kite enthusiast to enjoy yourself.

“It’s all about being outside, being active and having fun. Everyone is welcome, from our youngest citizens to our most senior. You will be guaranteed a great day out.

Deric hArtagáin, 3e Weatherman, added that the Dublin Kite Festival has fast become one of the highlights of his summer.

“The atmosphere is always upbeat and everyone is always in great spirits,

? he stated.

“When you think about it, kite flying is an ideal activity for both young and old, considering we live on a windy island in the middle of the Atlantic.

The advise for the day is don’t worry if you’ve never flown a kite, or even if you can’t remember the last time you did, because there will be plenty of kiting experts on hand to get you off the ground.
