LOCALS in Dublin 15 are being urged to put some fun into fundraising by signing up for the Coca-Cola HBC Foróige 5k that takes place in the National Sports Campus this Sunday (May 24).

Money raised from the event will raise vital funds for young people in the area and the run is open to people of all abilities.

Foróige, the national youth development organisation that manages and provides youth projects and services in Dublin 15, is coordinating the run and is partnering with local business in the form of Coca-Cola HBC, which employs 300 people at their premises in Ballycoolin.

The National Sports Campus has come on board to host the event on their grounds in

Blanchardstown, giving participants a chance to view some of the site’s excellent sports facilities.

The fun day will kick off at 11am, followed by the 5k event at 12pm, which is chip timed by Precision Timing. Registration is

?¬20 and further information

is available on Run Ireland’s website.

Cash prizes will be handed out for the first and second place male and female runners and vouchers given to the third placed participants.

All those taking part will go home with a medal and a goody bag.

Entertainment on the day will begin with a short run for young people down the

‘Yellow Brick Road’, and there’ll be lots of fun activities such as penalty shoot outs and face painting.

“We are extremely grateful that Coca-Cola HBC Ireland have come on board to sponsor our 5k day along with the National Sports Campus who have kindly provided us with their top of the range facility in Blanchardstown to host the event,

? said Bernie Moloney of Foróige.

“All funds raised will go towards the much needed provision of educational and pro-social programmes and activities for young people aged 10-18 years old from Dublin 15.
