Dublin People 01 May 2015
PLANNING permission has been granted for a new school building at St Mochta’s NS in Clonsilla, Dublin 15.

A two-storey, 32 classroom building will now be built on the school’s existing site as soon as funding is secured.
When completed, the school will have a much larger drop off area for parents, which will no longer be directly on the Porterstown Road.
Architects have also incorporated the old
‘White School’ building into the new design, preserving a local landmark for the future.
Tánaiste and Labour TD for Dublin West, Joan Burton, dropped into the school last week to view plans and congratulate the board of management and parents.
“It’s another positive step on the road for this ambitious school project,
? she said.
“It’s good news for the parish of St Mochta’s and Porterstown, because it’s an area with a growing population and many young families.
“I want to congratulate the school and the parents involved in getting the project this far.
?
Local TD and Minister for Health Leo Varadkar also expressed his delight with the granting of permission.
“This is fantastic news for the school and I congratulate everyone involved,
? he said.
“The next step is to secure funding for the project. I will be raising this shortly with the Minister for Education, Jan O’Sullivan.
