DO you fancy going for a stroll on St Patrick’s Day?

Registration has opened for the 10th annual Aware Harbour2Harbour Walk which will take place on March 17 (10.30am) from Howth to Dun Laoghaire and vice versa (16 miles).

Participants can start the walk at either of the two harbours.

Irish Ferries have announced their support for the event while Senator David Norris and Irish rugby international Fergus McFadden were on board to encourage people to sign up at www.aware.ie.

Daragh O’Reilly, marketing manager at Irish Ferries, said the walk takes participants along one of Europe’s most scenic seafront routes and into the Dublin Port area, through which so much of Ireland’s tourism and trade traffic flows.

“It is an exciting way to mark St Patrick’s Day and a delightful day out for Dubliners of all ages, be they runners, joggers, walkers or strollers,

? said Mr O’Reilly.

Amo Sayed, Head of Business Development and Fundraising with Aware, highlighted the importance of the event for the organisation.

“Each year in excess of 1,000 people take part to raise funds for Aware’s work,

? said Mr Sayed.

“In 2014,

?¬40,000 was raised from the event. We are delighted to have the support of Irish Ferries this year, as well as Dublin Port Company who are kindly providing a fun-filled halfway point close to the Eastlink toll bridge.

“It is fitting that both are supporting the Harbour2Harbour Walk given that the event showcases the beauty of Dublin Bay.

Participants are encouraged to raise sponsorship from colleagues, friends and family, with all funds raised going to Aware’s nationwide depression support, education and information services.
