Popular club ‘St Joey’s’ is awarded major funding

A POPULAR boys’ sports club has been granted

?¬146,198 to help with their ongoing work in the local community.

Cllr Victor Boyhan (Ind) said he was delighted with the latest round of funding to be allocated to St Joseph’s Boys AFC Sallynoggin.

“It is fabulous news,

? Cllr Boyhan, a committed supporter of the club, said.

“Fondly known as St Joey’s, the club has achieved great things in recent years, and it now boasts fabulous new facilities including dressing rooms, shower rooms, an indoor hall, a new lounge area, manicured grass pitches, astro pitches, an indoor training area, meeting rooms, class rooms and a café, none of which would have been achieved without the drive and ambition of its founders, management, players and supporters.

“I have long supported the club’s football training initiatives in the community, and great progress has been made from humble beginnings for St Joey’s. They can be truly proud of their achievements in the training and formation of young people in the great sport of football.

“The Government grant of

?¬146,198 is richly deserved,

? Cllr Boyhan added.
