Dublin enjoy convincing win at Parnell’s GAA Club

Dublin Stars’ goalkeeper Serena Hannon comes under pressure from Lyndsey Davey, Dublin captain.

GREGORY McGonigle’s Dublin side blew off their winter cobwebs with a quality display of football against the 2014 Dublin Stars in a recent fixture played at Parnell’s GAA Club, Coolock.

The Leinster champions ran out comfortable winners on a 6-15 to 0-5 scoreline.
Lindsay Peat finished the game as top scorer with an impressive 3-2 from play, much to the delight of the host club’s supporters.

Despite the gulf on the scoreboard it was an entertaining encounter with Serena Hannon, Leah Caffrey, Philippa Green and Orlagh Egan all performing well for Fintan O’Curry’s Dublin Stars.

Dublin’s opening TESCO Homegrown NFL round clash with Peter Clarke’s Monaghan takes place on February 1, and McGonigle will be pleased enough with this outing, as a number of senior players were unavailable for the contest. The match was kindly sponsored by AIG Ireland.
