New jobs boost for Park West

A TOTAL of 100 new jobs have been created in Park West.

Deputy Catherine Byrne (FG) said the creation of the new jobs by Allianz Worldwide Care was great news for the surrounding areas of Cherry Orchard, Clondalkin, Ballyfermot and Ballymount.

“Allianz has been a great employer in Park West with a staff of 700 already working there,

? Deputy Byrne said.

“They created 74 new jobs already this year and the announcement now of 100 extra jobs is very welcome.

“Job creation always has a positive knock on effect for the local community with local businesses benefitting from the newly employed people in the area having more money in their pockets.

“Furthermore, these are not casual jobs,

? Deputy Byrne added.

“The new staff employed at Allianz at Park West will benefit from training and development to further their careers.

The Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton also announced that Neuromod Devices will create an additional 50 jobs for Dublin over the coming years.
The announcement came as Neuromod Devices launched mutebutton, a new device for the treatment of Tinnitus.

Neuromod Devices is headquartered in NovaUCD, the Centre for New Ventures and Entrepreneurs at University College Dublin.

Neuromod Devices plan to achieve the creation of 50 new jobs over the next five years in Dublin. These highly specialised roles will be key in supporting its global growth targets to become a leading global provider of non-surgical neuromodulation treatments for chronic conditions.

The project has been supported by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation through Enterprise Ireland.

Meanwhile, Senator Katherine Zappone has said that small businesses in Tallaght wishing to expand and create more jobs in 2015 must be supported by Government.
On the back of recent jobs announcements and investments in Tallaght, the Independent Senator said it was important that small firms play a key role in the recovery of the local economy.

“Recently our local communities have enjoyed the benefit of good news announcements from Fidelity Investments, Allianz Worldwide Care and other investments with potential for over 500 jobs,

? Senator Zappone stated.

“This news is very welcome, in particular at this time of year. However, it is important that the small local firms which form the backbone of the Tallaght economy are also supported.

“Through Microfinance Ireland small firms of less than 10 employees and a turnover of less than

?¬2 million can apply for loans of up to

?¬25,000.

“This scheme is particularly targeted at those companies which may have been turned down credit by their banks.
