STUDENTS at a Northside school got into the festive spirit early by taking part in this year’s Christmas Shoe Box Appeal.

St Mary’s Secondary School, Baldoyle, has had a long association with the appeal.
This year, Transition Year and Fifth Year students organised the project in co-operation with teachers, Sr Marie Therese and Ms Marguerite Martin and responded with great generosity.

To mark the occasion, a special ceremony was held to mark the handover of Christmas boxes to the charity, TeamHope.

Team Hope is an independent Irish, interdenominational Christian relief and development charity.
All the students formed a human chain linking the school to the collection van and the boxes were passed out student to student.

It was a great occasion and the girls are delighted that the Christmas boxes are going to places such as Croatia, Belarus, Burundi, Lesotho and Mozambique.

Siobhan O’ Connell, Principal at St Mary’s, congratulated the girls for their great efforts.
