Simon Delaney to host awards for theatrical kids

THIS year’s Bord Gáis Energy Student Theatre Awards have been launched by the actor, writer and director, Simon Delaney.

Delaney will judge the Musical Theatre categories and act as MC at the awards ceremony on March 4.

“These awards have been set up to reward and encourage participation in drama in schools and I think it’s really important that we recognise young creative talent from an early age.

Open to primary school students from 3rd – 6th class and all students in secondary school, the awards have been set up by Bord Gáis Energy to recognise and reward participation in drama across Ireland.
The deadline for entries is January 12 and shortlisted schools will be invited to a special awards ceremony at The Bord Gáis Energy Theatre on Wednesday, March 4.
Selected schools will have the opportunity to perform on stage and the winning schools will share a prize fund of up to
?¬10,000.
