Raheny celebrate cup final triumph

TRIUMPH: The Raheny United players celebrate after winning the Women’s Cup Final.

RAHENY United’s clubhouse was the scene of great celebrations last Sunday week after the ladies’ team won the FAI Continental Tyres Women’s Cup Final for the third consecutive year.

The Northsiders defeated UCD Waves 2-1 after extra time in the decider at the Aviva Stadium.
Siobhan Killeen scored the decisive goal, with Katie McCabe getting the first for Raheny in normal time.

Raheny United FC would like to congratulate all the players and management team following this latest triumph.

The day began at 9.30am at the clubhouse when the club organised a free breakfast, free face painting, free kids’ goody bag, free DART stopping only at Raheny and Lansdowne Road, and a free ticket to the match for all adults and children.

Reform Alliance TD for Dublin Bay North, Terence Flanagan, congratulated the team on its success.

“The win is thoroughly deserved and I am delighted that the team has retained the FAI title,
