Jamie Jay scraps with former Westlife star Brian McFadden

A ONE-legged entertainer from Finglas is taking derogatory comments from former Westlife megastar Brian McFadden in his stride.

Talented amputee Jamie Jay Car, who works part-time as a DJ on Near FM, started the Twitter row with the singer when he randomly tweeted:

“@BrianMcFadden is presenting @TV3Ireland’s toy show this year. God, how his career went downhill

?¦

?

The tweet was hashtagged with #Laughable, but McFadden, who was formerly married to Kerry Katona, clearly didn’t find it funny when he took issue with the comment.
He checked out Jamie Jay’s profile and hit back with a boast about his wealth tweeting:

“near fm? Really. I’m getting paid probably your salary to fly in for one night! Suck it.

? But the local DJ was unrepentant and replied with

“it’s community radio and I still wouldn’t have you as a guest

?¦

?

McFadden came under fire over his response, but refused to backtrack, explaining to one critic:

“it wasn’t aimed at him for nothing. The guy out of the blue slagged me off and included my @ so I’d read it? The p***k.

?

Jamie Jay sarcastically described McFadden’s initial response as

“truly classy

? but reckons he won the war of words.

“Without blowing my own trumpet I think I won that battle of wits, although I think my Jack Russell dog would have put up a better argument than that lad that used to be in east life or whatever they were called,

? he teased on his blog.

The Twitter spat between the pair made it into the national press and was even parodied by popular satire website, Waterford Whispers News.

McFadden also had a pop another Northsider, Alan Hughes, who successfully hosted last year’s TV3 Toy Show and had expressed disappointment that he didn’t get the job this year.

“He’s just not as cool as me,

? McFadden said. That’s just a fact. Sorry, but no kid wants to hear you talking about toys Alan.

“I have kids, I know about toys. I’ve got Barbies, I’ve got it all. You don’t have any toys.

? McFadden, who originally comes from Artane, will present the TV3 Christmas Toy Show with Jedward and Xpose presenter Karen Koster live from the RDS on November 21.
