A FACEBOOK competition has been launched to find Ireland’s best

‘Nidge’ look-alike.

PhoneWatch, the monitored alarm company, said the competition was a bit of fun with an important message.

“Nidge is probably the best known character in Ireland at present,

? he explained.

“We’re having a bit of fun in seeking Ireland’s best Nidge look-alike but we’re also underlying a very important reminder to home owners.

“Now is the time to review your home security in order to protect your loved ones and your possessions.

Mr Tully said that according to the Central Statistics Office, nearly 27,000 burglaries and related offences were recorded in the first six months of 2014.
He added that it was now hitting peak season for burglars with shorter evenings providing the protection of darkness.
