A FREE Halloween day of family fun is taking place in Blackrock on Saturday, October 25.

Dubliners have been invited along to

‘Scary Saturday’, a Halloween-themed family fun day in the town.

Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council and Blackrock’s retailers will be hosting a wide range of activities in the Blackrock Shopping Centre, the Frascatti Shopping Centre and on Blackrock Main Street from 12pm – 3pm.

Kids will be able to check out their favourite mini-ghost or ghoul on Blackrock Main Street where a children’s Halloween fancy dress contest will be taking place from a special haunted tent.
Blackrock Shopping Centre will be transforming younger children into

“little horrors

? with free face painting and special effects makeup for older kids.

More ghastly activities will be taking place in the eerie Frascatti Shopping Centre where balloon modellers will be crafting special Halloween-themed creations and for those adventurous enough to try, special scary, but temporary, tattoos will be on offer.

Speaking about the event, the cathaoirleach of Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council, Cllr Marie Baker, said:

“We are delighted to be supporting Blackrock’s retailers with this special free Halloween family fun day.

“I know that all of the businesses are very excited about welcoming lots of families and their regular shoppers to the town.

“I would encourage shoppers from Blackrock and the wider Dún Laoghaire Rathdown area to come to Blackrock on the day to join in the fun.

“With a range of free activities including a fancy dress contest, face painting, special effects make-up and Halloween balloon modelling, there’s something for every member of the family.

“It’s guaranteed to be the perfect way to get ready for Halloween.
