Karate Kid star in Castleknock

FORMIDABLE DUO: Bob and Barbara White will be in Castleknock for a Kenpo seminar next week.

THE referee from the original Karate Kid movie will be in Castleknock next Tuesday (October 14) for a special seminar.

Bob, who holds a Ninth Degree Black Belt in Ed Parkers American Kenpo Karate, has been involved in Kenpo for over 40 years and holds seminars all over the world.

He was the referee in the Karate Kid’s final fight scenes and has continued his involvement as both a consultant and on the publicity side in subsequent films, including the 2010 remake starring Jackie Chan.

Bob will be accompanied by his wife, Barbara, who is a Fifth Degree Black Belt with over 20 years experience. She’s one of the foremost female Kenpo practitioners in the world today and is heavily involved in women’s self defence and promoting the study of martial art to help empower women.

Next week’s seminar is a great opportunity for all Kenpo students, as well as those involved in sport karate and kickboxing, to work with a truly great martial artist who has dedicated his life to the art.

The Castleknock Kenpo Karate Academy has been teaching martial arts in the community for the past 27 years and senior instructor, Professor Julian McDermott, is a world renowned fighter.
He has been World Champion twice and European Champion a remarkable 12 times as well as a member of a formidable Castleknock Kenpo Team who are known throughout the Kenpo World.
