A NORTHSIDE man is appealing for the return of a camcorder containing cherished videos of his children that was stolen from his home during a burglary.

In the early hours of August 18, burglars broke into Pat Faherty’s house in Baldoyle.

As well as the camcorder, Mr Faherty’s wife’s car was stolen, along with a laptop and other items.

However, Mr Faherty said the most important item for him to get back is the DVR camcorder.

“It has all our children’s stuff on it such as their birthday parties, christenings, first days at school and the first steps they took,

? he explained.

“These memories cannot be replaced.

Mr Faherty said the camcorder is around five-years-old.

“It is worth nothing to them (thieves) but so much to us,

? he said.

“They would get nothing for it. It’s only a small thing – about the size of your fist. It’s blue and black in colour and was in a blue leather case.

“We’re not concerned with the other stuff that was stolen but would really be so grateful to get the camcorder back. It’s of great sentimental value.

“Even if we got the memory stick with the stuff on it, it would be great. It would mean so much to our family.

Mr Faherty has appealed to the thieves to return the camcorder anonymously.

“They could arrange to leave it somewhere and no questions would be asked,

? he stated.

“We will also put up a reward to get it back.

Mr Faherty and his family were at home at the time of the break-in.

“It was a terrible thing to happen, especially with two young kids sleeping upstairs,

? he added.
