SOCCER legend Ian Rush met up with members of Corduff FC last week to remember local hero, Ricky Osagie, who died earlier this year trying to rescue pals from a pond.

The brave 13-year-old – known as ‘Rickster’ to his Corduff FC pals – tragically drowned at Waterville Hall, on Friday June 20. It’s understood he was trying to save two teenage girls who got into difficulties in the water.

All three teens were recovered from the water and while the girls survived, Ricky sadly passed away.

A spokesperson for the club said:

“Can we take this opportunity to thank everyone who has helped in anyway who contributed to a highly successful tournament.
