DUBLINTOWN has teamed up with Irish style queen Angela Scanlon to launch the 2014 Dublin Fashion Festival with an evening of fun, fashion and food in City Hall for the city’s leading style commentators, designers and enthusiasts.

Taking place from Thursday, September 4 until Sunday 7, the Dublin Fashion Festival will see over 250 retailers, restaurants, bars and hotels taking part in one of the city centre’s liveliest events.

Following in the footsteps of Irish stars such as Laura Whitmore and Amanda Byram, as the new face of the festival Angela will officially launch this year’s event, as well as hosting a live fashion show on Friday, September 5.

“I’m delighted to be working with Dublin Fashion Festival this year,

? Angela said.

“I have always championed Irish style and anything that throws a spotlight on that is a positive thing.

“The charm and energy of Dublin make it utterly unique, whether the characters or the pop-ups or the old independents that have been here for decades, there’s always something different to see and experience.

“I’m really looking forward to seeing what the festival has in store.

Clyde Carroll, director of marketing for DublinTown added: “As one of Ireland’s leading fashion icons, Angela Scanlon is the perfect person to launch and take part in this year’s Dublin Fashion Festival.

“The festival is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate Dublin city centre and everything that makes shopping and socialising here so special.

“We know that as a stylist, presenter and writer Angela knows the city centre better than anyone, from the big high street retailers to the vintage boutiques in hidden corners of the city centre.

“Dublin Fashion Festival celebrates all that is fashion and we are looking forward to an exciting event this evening.

Putting a sense of fun and theatre back into shopping and socialising in the capital, the festival celebrates all things fashion.

This year, the best of the city’s fashion retailers are on hand to host on-street fashion shows on Grafton Street and Henry Street, exciting in-store events, stylathons, Evoke.ie and the Dublin Fashion Bus.

Young designers from across Ireland will also have the chance to showcase their vision for fashion, and compete for the coveted title of Young Designer of the Year in one of Ireland’s largest fashion events.

Showcasing the best in Irish design and high street labels, Dublin Fashion Festival will turn sidewalks into catwalks again this September to get the people of Dublin out to enjoy shopping in the centre.
