Skerries Rugby Club thanked for donation

SKERRIES RNLI have thanked Skerries Rugby Club for their generous donation of e590.

The money was raised through the selling of programmes at the club’s hugely successful Strictly Come Dancing fundraiser held in June.

Several members of the club visited the station where Robert McAuley, Vice President of Skerries Rugby Club, presented Lifeboat Operations Manager for Skerries RNLI, Niall McGrotty, with the cheque.

Gerry Canning, Volunteer Lifeboat Press Officer, said:

“Fundraising is absolutely vital to allow our volunteers to continue to save lives at sea.

“We are very grateful to have the support of Skerries Rugby Club, which, along with various other clubs and organisations really is at the heart of the community.
