THE Capuchin Day Centre in Dublin 7 is to benefit from a welcome e10,000 donation from international health insurer Allianz Worldwide Care.

The Northside based charity that provides 1,000 food parcels and 6,000 hot meals weekly to those experiencing poverty was surprised by the recent unexpected windfall donation from the insurance giants.
Open six days a week, the Capuchin Day Centre in has seen a threefold increase in users since the economic downturn, and needs e2.5 million a year just to keep running.
Allianz Worldwide Care staff regularly volunteer at the Capuchin Day Centre and decided to make the donation after being awarded a fund bursary from Allianz SE.
The bursary was awarded in recognition of Allianz Worldwide Care’s employee Health and Well-being programme.
Claire Cusack, Head of Human Resources at Allianz Worldwide Care said;
“We’re delighted to be able to reward the incredible work of Brother Kevin and his team of volunteers at the Capuchin Day Centre with this donation.
“Brother Kevin relies hugely on donations as for every
?¬1 of state funding the centre receives, it requires a further
?¬4 to survive.
