Finglas man wins Tesco award

A LOCAL Tesco employee has picked up an award in recognition of his excellence amongst staff.

Mark O’Brien, who works in Tesco Cardiffsbridge Express, was named winner of the Produce Colleague of the Year category at the 2014 Tesco Ireland Values Awards.

Mark was nominated for being a colleague who makes the workplace a fantastic place to be.

“It’s truly a great honour to receive this award,

? Mark said.

“It’s very rewarding to be recognised by my Tesco colleagues in this way and I thank them for their support.

“On a daily basis, I believe in making our Tesco store an enjoyable place for colleagues to work.

This is the third year of the Tesco Ireland Values Awards, which took place at a special ceremony in the Double Tree Hilton Hotel in Dublin earlier this month.

The awards recognize excellence amongst Tesco staff and employees are nominated by colleagues in 10 different categories for their notable contributions to communities across Ireland.

RTE’s Brian Ormond was MC at this year’s ceremony which was watched by over 250 Tesco staff in attendance.

Tesco Ireland CEO, Phil J Clarke, said:
