Praise for street cleaning initiative
Dublin People 15 Mar 2014
EVERY Tuesday evening the business community and residents of Killester and Donnycarney get out and clean up their local streets as part of the Dublin City Council

‘Adopt a Street Initiative’.
The Killester/Donnycarney scheme commenced in June 2013 and involves a tidy up of the area in and around the businesses and shops on Killester Avenue.
Sean Haughey, one of Fianna Fail’s candidates in the Clontarf ward for the local elections, congratulated the hard-working and enthusiastic volunteers who have made the scheme such a success.
“This initiative has gone from strength to strength,
? he said.
The project is now ready to enter a new phase and the committee is seeking more volunteers so that additional roads can be included in the clean-up.
“The success of this project demonstrates what can be achieved when a community pulls together and it is my hope that the
‘Adopt a Street’ scheme can now be implemented right throughout the city,
? added Mr Haughey.
“I congratulate everyone involved in the Killester/Donnycarney campaign.
“Great credit is due to this group of volunteers who carry out this work all year round for the benefit of their local community.
