Erin Torlao features in the Oxfam Heroes campaign.

A YOUNG Malahide girl is taking part in a campaign that is calling people to say thank you to the inspirational women in their lives.

The Oxfam Heroes campaign coincides with International Women’s Day (March 8) and runs online throughout the month of March at www.oxfamheroes.org

One such hero is Erin Torlao (5), who took part in Oxfam Ireland’s fundraising initiative for the Philippines, with her Mum Janet, in November 2013.

Erin was subsequently appointed as one of the ambassadors for Oxfam Ireland’s Heroes campaign.

Janet Torlao said:

“We were delighted when Erin was chosen as an ambassador for the Heroes campaign, representing the thousands of hero volunteers who support Oxfam Ireland every year.

“Erin really enjoyed meeting the other ambassadors and is very excited to see her picture on all the Oxfam materials.

Oxfam Malahide’s Rosaleen Dunne said:

“We all know a female hero – they are our mothers, sisters, grandmothers, friends, colleagues, teachers and neighbours.

“As well as saying a very special thank you to your personal hero, all the profits raised from our Heroes pins, cards, gifts and events will go to our work with women worldwide.
