Ann Reilly’s family express gratitude

THE recent disappearance of Ann Reilly from her home in Finglas prompted her family, friends, neighbours, work colleagues and complete strangers to come from all over Dublin to join in the search for her.

Unfortunately when Ann was found it was too late to save her but her husband of over 30 years, Tommy, and sons Alan, Thomas and David were touched by the level of support and kindness they received from family, neighbours, friends, and indeed, strangers.

The decision to request donations instead of flowers at Ann’s funeral resulted in a total of e2,116 collected. This generous amount reflects the huge level of support for Ann and her family, and they wanted to give back to the community by way of donating the money to Finglas Suicide Network (FSN), who in conjunction with Pieta House, offer suicide Intervention and counselling.

The counselling service, which covers a number of issues, is based in Finglas West. The service is open to everyone, regardless of age, and is self-referral.

All donations, like the one from Tommy and family, go back into the service to create a more accessible, reliable and constant support to the people of Finglas.

FSN was set up by, and is run, by volunteers who would all like to thank the family of Ann Reilly for thinking of others at a time of grief and loss in their own lives and offer condolences to them and wish them peace, and their support always.
