Aisling’s Voice is through to the next stage
Dublin People 18 Jan 2014
TALLAGHT’S Aisling Connolly has sensationally made it through to the next stage of The Voice Of Ireland.
The 24-year-old is on her way to stardom after a brilliant performance on the hit TV show.
Her version of
‘Cloud Busting’ by Kate Bush was a big winner on the night.
Aisling, who gave up hairdressing to follow her dream of singing for a living, made it through with Heather Stuart (19) who starred alongside fellow Dubs, James Sheridan (20) and Siobhan McNamara (18).
Aisling did very well in episode three as her gorgeous rendition of
‘Cloudbusting’ immediately prompted Judge Kian Egan to press his buzzer.
Enthusiastic Aisling, who has a big passion for music, has a beautiful baby, 7-month-old Hannah.
Her musical influences include Lana Del Ray, Kodaline, Eva Cassidy, Van Morrison, and Rihanna.
Living with partner Jonathon and Hannah, the full-time singer balances motherhood with her work as a wedding church singer.
Jonathon plays bass guitar in her wedding band
‘All Talk’ and he has a recording studio in Rathcoole where Aisling records her own stuff and backing vocals for other tracks.
Outside of music Aisling says baby Hannah keeps her busy but the singer, who describes her style as quirky but powerful, dynamical, heartfelt, emotion, blues, said she would love to show her baby girl when she’s older that she was on The Voice.
“People think that once you have a baby that your life is over, but I want to show people you can live your dream and also be a great mam,
? she declared.
Aisling is no stranger to fame having already sang at a wedding where Keith Duffy and Bressie were guests.
Being pregnant and having babies is no deterrent for contestants on The Voice of Ireland as Kelly Mongan proved in the last series and this year Catherine Hughes (29) from Armagh is 30 weeks pregnant.
As for her fellow Dubs, Heather Stuart sang
‘Red’ by Taylor Swift that got Bressie to turn in his chair and declare that she had
“an insane gift
?.
James Sheridan was on the show last year and made it to the battle stages on Team Bressie but unfortunately no judges turned this year.
Siobhan, from Ballymun, also didn’t get through but the judges fell in love with her gorgeous, infectious positive character.
Over the next few weeks each coach will pick their perfect 10 acts in the Blind auditions and pit them against each other in the Battle stages.
They must then make the decision which of the two they will take through to the Live Shows in Dublin’s Helix where the winner will get a chance to win a recording contract with Universal.
Last series’ winner, Keith Hanley, has just finished recording his album that will be released later this year.
